Description

The Genomics Cores provides small scale to genome size high throughput DNA sequencing. The core also provides infrastructure for SNP profiling, fragment analysis genotyping, Quantitative Real Time PCR, and a number of microarray platforms for gene expression, a CGH, and methylation analysis. The MSU facility can produce nearly 50 GB of data each day - more than 15 times the data in a single human genome. Researchers attach DNA to glass slides and use one of the two Illumina sequencers to amplify to 10,000 times before running a sequence reaction and assembling the sequence.
